What is a Social CAUSE Influencer?
A “Social Cause Influencer” is a motivated content creator- tasked with producing media content and news stories that inspire, educate, and spread #preventionpower.
All while they learn to create, expand, and improve their own You Tube channels and social medias, grow their audience, improve content to go viral, get their posts boosted through funding, and begin launching their professional media personas.

The SCI program is for youth ages 13-18 who live in the State of Delaware.
SCI Meetings are both online and include occasional in person events and opportunities in each county. Dates and times of meetings will be shared with successful applicants.
Youth will get trained by professionals from The CAUSE in a partnership with the State of Delaware’s Division of Services for Children Youth and their Families.
Trainings and workshops include: video production, content creation, building a following, broadcast journalism, networking, professional development and more.
Youth will create posts and videos that will get funded boosts to increase their audience.
Although the youth will be able to promote a variety of positive social causes, there will be a focus on substance abuse prevention to create true peer to peer awareness of how to live and maintain a happy, healthy life.

Limited spaces available. Youth who successfully complete the application will be contacted by an SCI Staff member to determine eligibility. Applying does not guarantee a spot in the program. Slots will be filled as eligible youth get selected. Applications will be received and reviewed in order of submission, so the earlier an applicant applies, the better the chance to be selected.
Once slots are filled a waiting list for the next training cycle will begin for those interested.

SCI is statewide youth media bureau program funded by the State of Delaware. Influencers get to represent themselves and their own brand, as well as representing their Delaware county as a “County Correspondent” for New Castle, Sussex, or Kent County.
County Correspondents are online ambassadors for their peers and their community- Using their power of influence to pioneer a movement that motivates people to use their social media voices to make the world a better place.
